WTF McBush?

And McCain challenged Wallace’s assertion that Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin had become “a drag” on the GOP ticket.
“As a cold political calculation, I could not be more pleased,” McCain said, calling Palin “a direct counterpoint to the liberal feminist agenda for America” and asserting “she’s the best thing that could have happened to my campaign and to America.”

So what does that mean for Liberal Feminine Women????

Another Post for Obscurity

So blah, feeling my age, actually probably older. Sinus headache.
Due for a physical. Need those blobs near my eye checked, are they age spots or something bad?
Need to get serious about exercise. Already started eating right, but that's only half the equation. I know that. Have to make time for myself.

Clean Up Time

Fall Clean Up, Company Clean Up, Organize Clean Up....and apparently with shower and holiday gifts it's Wallet Clean Out Time too.

On the plus side, finding stuff that has been missing and finishing up incomplete projects.

Oh, and Mommy is in transit with my birthday present

Thanks to my work, someone's getting canned

Wow. I had no idea my work would be used for something like this. I truly thought the report was for a marketing demographic, not justification to lay off people.
I'm really sad about this. I understand it was a money drain, this person's caseload.
I told my boss I felt like the executioner in "A Tale of Two Cities"...he said no, I just sharpened the axe. Dark humor in the office today.

Stoned Kitties

My dear hub gently reminded me that I've been spending more time playing with and shopping for sewing machines than I have actually sewing. Very true.
So today we fixed the spongebob pillow on the serger-testing out the wooly nylon and a wide stitch/short length. The flannel frays badly and I hope this does it. With the leftover scraps we made some catnip toys for the kitties.
They turned out well, and none have been destroyed yet. It was cute to see Missy, the old girl playful. Boots, on the other hand, was greedy and decided to slobber over all three catnip toys. He is such a jerk, I swear. Hogs the window, the litter box, the food.....and I picked him out.

Anyway, I got that done, and also cut out a blanket for Logie's teacher. Have to finish it and a matching hat before she pops. Due in a month, but she's already running out of steam. I wonder why, she only runs after maniac 2 year olds every day!

My Favorite Sewing Machine

Is a beat up, grimy old Willcox & Gibbs chainstitcher. I smile just looking at it. It was seized when I got it for 20 bucks. With a lot of patience, WD 40, begging and pleading, it came back to life. It stitched a sweet stitch on its first threading (which I did half assed, for the record)
I just got most of the attachments in another purchase, clean as a whistle, and they all fit right in. The simplicity of the mechanisms are fun, and once we jigsaw a base for the treadle it will be used often.

At some point I will dismantle, strip and refinish this little baby. I found a site that sells repro decals.

But for now it's on my shelf, tucked away safely till I can play with it again.

So Here it goes

How is it that I have all these scrambled thoughts begging to be stored somewhere, yet when I sit down and create a blog I have nothing to say?
